Support HFE
Your contribution to HFE supports the efforts of Ohio residents working to build power on behalf of LGBT people.
Heights Families for Equality (HFE) was formed in 2002 to support an ordinance passed by Cleveland Heights City Council on April 15, 2002 that provided equal employee benefits to the same-sex partners of gay and lesbian city employees.
In 2003, HFE led a petition drive, which resulted in a ballot question that appeared on the November ballot as Issue 35, to create our state's first domestic partnership registry in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
On April 20, 2004, an anti-gay group called the Ohio Campaign to Protect Marriage filed a petition seeking to amend the Ohio Constitution so as to ban gay marriage and the recognition of any legal status for gay and lesbian relationships in Ohio. Heights Families for Equality is dedicated to defeating this amendment at the ballot box in November. Your contribution will help make that possible.
